3 Ways I Stay in The Flow

Staying in the flow with three steps

There is a lot going on in my life now, and a new class starts on Monday. There is also a family reunion scheduled in a couple of weeks, and a few major personal and business projects to finish in the next two weeks. You may find my posting a bit haphazard for a while.

Although I always try to follow my heart and stay aligned and in the moment, it is harder when there is additional stress. I know that even when I’m overworked and under rested that if I just do a few things I’ll feel in my flow.

For the next few weeks I’m concentrating on activities that keep me in the flow.

  • Daily Exercise, mostly Yoga -including very deep breathing.
  • Writing each morning (even if I don’t post).
  • Playing with my daughter - this keeps me in the moment.

When I know I can’t get everything done in a day, I just come back to these three things. I know that if I do those, I’ll stay in the flow, be centered, and keep my personal stress level way down.

I do these things anyway from day to day, but when I’m stressed it is the very activities that I should continue to do that seem to get moved to an my non-priority list.

My mind says to my body:

Who has time to work out, there’s the project to complete?

So regardless of what else is going on, I promise to do these daily activities - for myself.

How do you react to stress and what keeps you in the flow?

(Since I’ll be writing on and off for a while, and you want to know when I’ve posted, subscribe so you’ll be informed when I’ve got something new on the blog)

    Great reminders. Thank you.

For me, the key is to focus on what matters to me - family, friends, learning, and growth - just as you’ve done.
